Fletch and I saw The Lego Movie on Valentine’s day and absolutely loved it!
The movie was witty, funny, and poked fun at a few of the recognizable characters, which I love.
It was a fun lighthearted movie and the perfect way for us to spend Valentine’s Day. In case you don’t know what this movie is about I will give you a brief summary.
The main character, Emmet, is mistaken for a master builder and must save the Lego world from the evil Lord Business. Emmet loves plans and fitting in which makes for a hilarious journey down a road of self discovery.
I suggest you check this movie out and tell me what you think!
For today’s Choice Cuts I will be sharing one of my favorite movies.
Made in Dagenham tells the story of female workers fighting for equal pay at the Ford Dagenham car plant.
Rita O’Grady, played by Sally Hawkins, is the leader of this band of workers. The workers strike when their employers decide that they do not deserve the title of semi-skilled and the wages that go along with it.
It is an eye opening film about sexism and fighting for what is right.
I love this movie for many reasons.
As a woman, I am glad that I have the opportunity to receive an education, to work full-time, to vote, and to choose whether I want to get married and to whom.
These are not privileges we have always been allowed.
We learn about the suffragist movement but many don’t realize how recent of a change it was.
If it wasn’t for those women standing up and saying enough is enough, well, we would be living in a very different world today.
This is an amazing movie with a thought provoking subject and a wonderful cast.
I cannot recommend this movie enough.
If you get a chance, you should definitely watch it.
