Keep love in your heart.

Hi Lovely,

I’ve tried my best to keep politics out of The Cutie Life but I can’t be silent about the negativity in the world right now. Whether you supported the president elect or not, there is anger, hurt, and fear, happening on all sides of things and it truly breaks my heart. With that said, I don’t want to focus on that. I want to talk about how we can counter that negativity. How we can spread love instead. I know right now it can be hard but I think we all need it more than ever.

Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite.

Hi Lovely!

Today is Fletch’s birthday so I want to take a moment to talk about how great he is. Fletch and I met in college at the beginning of our junior year. We began as friends, mostly hanging out with other people, but our relationship quickly blossomed. We started dating and three months in I said, “I love you,” when hanging up with him on the phone (it was a happy accident).

My handmade skirt from Kristina!!!

Hi Lovely!

Today I want to share this cute skirt handmade by my amazing friend, Kristina of The Eyre Effect!!! I had told her how I wanted a cute skirt and she graciously offered to make me one if I brought her fabric. Of course I immediately went to pick out fabric and decided on this cute fox fabric. She was so sweet to make it even though I know she is super busy. When I saw the final product I was in awe. It’s so cute!! I absolutely adore my new skirt and I’m so thankful that she spent the time to make it for me. The fact that Kristina made it makes it even more special. Her friendship is so incredibly important to me and this cute little skirt is a representation of that relationship.

Appreciating What You Have

Hi Lovely!

I spent my Friday night shopping and finding tons of cute blind boxes. It was AWESOME!! I hung out with my wonderful friend, Kelsey, of The Fangirl Crafter and we had an awesome time going around and fangirling out over lots of cute things. Come Saturday though I started feeling a little guilty for spending so much money. I mean, I spent a ton on little figures. It got me to thinking about appreciating what you have.

Here is the thing. Being a collector is all about wanting more. You want to add and grow your collection. For me, I collect little, cute things because they make me happy. I like looking at them, playing with them, or whatever else I do with them. I’m able to collect cute things because I’m very fortunate to have some extra funds. It hasn’t always been that way. I had crap jobs for a long time that paid very little. I ate cereal for dinner and entertained myself with free activities. It hasn’t been until the last year or so that Fletch and I have a little extra to be able to buy the things we want.
