Hello Lovely!
While visiting my parents I found some old photos from high school. It brought back so many wonderful memories. One of the common themes in my photos was music. I found photos of me at concerts, me wearing band t-shirts, and photos in my room that show off my band posters. My love for music was always there.
See, I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. I always felt a bit secluded, even though I lived in the biggest city. Music was a way for me to connect with people. I expressed my emotions through song. I sang Taking Back Sunday at the top of my lungs when moody. After breakups I laid on my bed singing along to Dashboard Confessional. It was always there for me.
When traveling I always made it a point to see a concert. Bands never traveled to Anchorage so I tried to get the most out of my visits to the lower 48. I saw bands like The Starting Line, Ok Go, Tsunami Bomb, and HelloGoodBye all while on vacations. My amazingly wonderful parents drove sometime hours out of our way so I could have one night of concert bliss. They knew it meant the world to me.
That hasn’t changed. So, today I want to take you on a walk down memory lane. Come, get to know youthful Hilary.

Warped Tour 2005 in Florida. I planned my trip to visit my sister around the tour schedule.
As I previously said, music has always and continues to be a big part of my life. Fletch and I go to concerts all the time. I’ve even kept a list of all of the bands I wanted to see live that I loved growing up. I am happy to say that after next month I will have successfully checked off every one of them. My last two are Dashboard Confessional and Fall Out Boy.
Did you (or do you) love any of these songs? What type of music were you into back in high school? I’d love to know!
