What I’ve Been Up To

Hello Lovelies!

I am writing this from my desk and I felt compelled to share about what I’ve been up to in my personal life. February really burnt me out so if it seems like I haven’t been posting as frequently it is because I haven’t. Don’t worry though. I am finding my stride again and getting inspired!

As I said, February was a very busy month. There was Valentines Day (and Galentine’s Day), my friend’s wedding, and my birthday. It was a full month and I enjoyed every bit of it! Here are a few photo highlights.

Dayton and Alaina took us on a food tour of Portland for my birthday!

Everyone sang happy birthday to me on the food tour!

Now I am working on getting back into my routine. In fact, today I have a meet-up with a fellow blogger, and new friend, Jenn of hellorigby! You may remember Jenn from a previous post (read here). She is a super awesome fashionista living in Seattle and I am really glad I’ve gotten to know her. I find most of my blogging inspiration from fellow bloggers so having a friend I can chat with is really wonderful.

Ok so what is new? Lets see. I’ve been getting pumped about attending Texas Style Council this month!! This will be my first blog conference and I am traveling all the way to Austin for it!! I am SUPER nervous but very excited. I am getting the same jitters I used to get right before school started. What if no one likes me? What if no one invites me to eat with them? AAHH! I am freaking out! I know I will meet some awesome people I just need to build my confidence. Sometimes I have a hard time meeting new people. I get anxious and then end up not introducing myself to anyone. It is silly, I know. I know this will be a great opportunity and I don’t plan on wasting it!

The weekend after TxSC I am attending Emerald City Comicon!! I am so excited (as you can tell from this outfit post). I already have my outfit planned and I can’t wait to find some super awesome fandom stuff!! One reason I love ECC is because it is an opportunity to re-connect with people I don’t see too often. A ton of my amazing friends attend so I always make sure to meet up with them at some point. We can share swag and catch up. My ridiculously talented friend, Nick, has a booth every year and I LOVE seeing his work all blown up.

Life has been pretty hectic. Right now I have a sinus infection (yuck) and am trying to recover before my big trip. The doctor says to drink plenty of fluids and get a ton of rest BUT that is really hard when you have so many fun things to do! So for now I will do my best to rest in-between my fun activities.

What is new with you?

Stay classy pony boy!

Free Printable Blog Planner

Hello Lovelies!

The new year is just around the corner and I wanted to get organized. One of my favorite ways to stay organized is by always updating my planner. A good planner can be your key to an organized, stress-free life.

So I set out on a search for the perfect planner. I hunted Etsy. I searched Target, Barnes and Nobles, Office Max, and every other store I could think of. I looked for weeks without finding anything that I liked and would fit my needs.

With hope almost lost I thought that maybe I should take a stab at designing my own. I don’t have much experience with design work but I really enjoy poking around and seeing what I can come up with.

So I did it! I designed my own blogging planner!! I think it is adorable and I can’t wait to use it! This is specifically designed to help organize blog post

Now I am sharing it with you!! I made two versions; a monthly 2015 calendar and a weekly calendar to be used at any time! That way, you can start now OR you can start whenever your current planner runs out. Whatever works for you! I wanted to make this planner simple and easy to use. I hope it helps you on your journey towards an organized and stress-free life.

Here is what mine looks like!

I suggest putting the weekly planner in a binder and comb binding the monthly planner.

Download them, put them together, and tell me what you think! I want to hear your opinions!

Feeling really good thanks to some amazing bloggers!

Hello Lovelies,

First off let me say that I LOVE the idea of these blogger awards! I really enjoy recognizing my fellow bloggers and I love reading their responses to the questions we get asked.

With that said I want to send a HUGE thank you out to Ines from pretty little things, Christina from Lifebeinggirly, and Wax from Wax’s World for nominating me for the One Lovely Blogger Award! You both have such wonderful blogs and constantly inspire me to keep being creative. Again, thank you for inspiring me and thank you for enjoying my blog. It truly means the world to me. 🙂

Now I share seven facts about myself:

  1. I enjoy singing loudly in the car.
  2.  One of my favorite past times is going to concerts and dancing around like an idiot.
  3. My favorite alcoholic beverage is Shock Top beer. It is bomb.
  4. I have never been stung by a bee. I think I may be highly allergic but am too afraid to find out so I run away when I see a bee.
  5. I go to the Renaissance Faire every year and I LOVE it!
  6. I enjoy making jewelry. I use vintage buttons to make earrings and I make bracelets.
  7. I watch My Little Pony and I don’t care who knows it.

How do you like them apples?

Another thank you goes out to Susanna at SusannaAntihero for nominating me for the Liebster Award!! Susanna is awesome and I really enjoy her blog. If you haven’t read it yet, you should!

Here are my questions from Susanna:

1. What have you found most enjoyable since you started writing your blog?
I would say my favorite part about blogging is connecting with people. I’ve had the opportunity to meet some WONDERFUL people through blogging and it makes me so very happy.

2. What is a song that you can really connect with? (One that either inspires you or you always feel drawn to)
This is a bit nerdy/weird but I love the song, “Chip On My Shoulder” from Legally Blonde: The Musical. It makes me want to get up and do something with myself.

3. What is one thing you do that really makes you feel at peace?
I really enjoy taking photos. When I have my camera out and I’m taking photos I feel in my element. Time melts away and I just focus on the taste at hand.

4. What are some of your hobbies?
I really enjoy takings photos, making jewelry, going for walks, and collecting cameras.

5. What is one act of kindness that was done for you, that you have never forgotten?
The day I was let go from my job a girl in the bathroom eased the pain a bit. She saw me crying and asked what was wrong. Through tears I told her about my situation and how I didn’t know what I would do. She told me not to worry. I would find a new, better job and she invited me for drinks. She gave me a big hug and we parted ways. She gave me the strength to go back to my job and get through it. I will never forget that interaction.

6. If you could have an all expenses paid vacation of your choosing to go on in the next few weeks, where would you go?
I would go to Greece. It looks like an absolutely beautiful place and I hope to experience it someday.

7. And if you could bring only one person with you, who would you like to spend this experience with?
I would bring my fiance, Fletch. We haven’t gone on a vacation together and I would love to share the beauty of travel with him.

8. What is something that you love to collect? (It can be now or something you collected in the past)
Cameras!! I have a fairly large collection of vintage and lomography cameras. It started with just a few and has grown to about 50 cameras.

9. What is something unique or random that you like to do that not many other people do?
Oh goodness that is a good question. Hmm.. I don’t feel very unique right now because I can’t think of anything. I enjoy watching documentaries on the weekends about civil rights, women’s rights, and ancient history. I am sure many people like to do that but I will spend an entire day lost in documentaries. I love learning about our past.

10. I’m a genie and I’m granting you 3 wishes, what will they be?
Oh my goodness three wishes? Alright here goes.
1. I would like to see gay marriage legalized all over the world.
2. I would wish for better care for homeless individuals.
3. I would lastly wish to meet Ellen Degeneres. It is selfish, I know. I would love to meet her and also allow my mom to meet her too.

Thank you again to everyone for these awards. It truthfully means so much to me and I love each and every one of you. Thank you for supporting my blog.

This is for you.
