I wanted to share a bit more about my time at Emerald City Comicon! Fletch and I had a great time meeting Kevin Eastman (co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and wondering around the con.
Fletch with Kevin Eastman
I found an adorable Catbus plushie but couldn’t afford it so I settled for a picture with it.
Here is Fletch and I looking swanky.
Rachel and I wore matching Doctor Who outfits!
So many goodies!
I bought a few goodies from the con. I bought this adorable ram sheep thing, an alpaca plushie, two Totoro prints, an adorable original watercolor of a mug, a Groot watercolor print, and I included my signed pass by Kevin Eastman! Overall it was a great day and I’d say it was pretty successful!
Have you ever been to a comicon?
Here is a fun little tid-bit of knowledge about me. When I was a baby I entered a baby pageant. I was the cutest little thing! I even won Miss Congeniality. Let me tell you how I won that auspicious title.
First, look at that cute little baby! That is little ole’ me with my trophies (and I guess a cape).
Alright back to the story.
Let me tell you. See, my parents had searched all over for a two piece bathing suit. I guess they don’t make them for babies too often. My mom finally found one, a cute little green and black polka dot number that she dressed me up in with my cute little top ponytail and an accompanying pail and shovel. That was my bathing suit outfit. Right, back to the story.
During the competition all of the parents would stand in a line at the back of the stage. They would call the baby to the stage and the parent would bring the baby forward. The baby would do as all babies do, clap their hands, smile, etc. Once they were done the parent would take them back to the line. When my time was up my dad took me back to the line and sat me down. I then crawled back out into the middle of the stage and began waving and clapping, even though it wasn’t my turn anymore. You just couldn’t keep me off of the stage! I had charisma, let me tell you.
That is how I won my title. Pretty cool huh?
This week’s favorite thing is an office supply item. I will start by sharing a little known fact about me. I love office supplies. I know it is a little nerdy but it is true. Now that you know it will be no surprise that I am so excited about my new little desk buddy; Comma the Chameleon (like “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club).
Two years ago I found a photo of a chameleon tape dispenser on Pinterest and fell in love. I wanted that thing to occupy my desk! (see original photo below)
But alas, I was never able to locate one like the one in the photo. So, I searched for two years until I happened upon one in Office Max this week. I grabbed him from the shelf like I would a family member returning from a long trip. I looked at Fletch and said, “I must have him! Do I need him? No. Will he make me happy? Yes. I am buying him.”
Now Comma lives on my desk bringing smiles to everyone that may pass. I definitely think he was worth the $9.99 plus tax. (P.S. I watched all three Lord of the Ring movies this week, so sorry for the reference in my title.)
It is time again for a wish list!

What have you been wanting? You know, Christmas is just around the corner!
It was my 23rd birthday. We were getting Lily from my amazing friend, Amber, and I couldn’t wait. Amber had sent me a photo of an adorable puppy sitting in its food dish. I knew it was meant to be my fur-baby. Amber and her boyfriend, Kyle, walk into our apartment with their dog, Abbey, and a kennel filled with tiny little puppies. Letting them out and seeing them run across hardwood floor was possibly the cutest thing ever.
Lily was just a little bundle of skin. She was so little.
We met Lily and loved her instantly. We were so excited to have her as a member of our family and I think she was excited too. She grew very attached to us quickly. She had to sit in our laps on the couch, in the car, and lay on top of us in the bed. That is still the case today.
I love coming home to Lily. She is always excited to see me and gives me lots of kisses. We go for walks, cuddle, and Lily loves eating. Seriously. She sits underneath me when I eat because she knows I will miss my mouth and it is easy food for her. She is like a hungry shark when it comes to food. You do NOT want to get in her way.
I love this little pup so much and I am forever thankful to Amber for bringing her into my life. Fletch and I love her like a child and can’t imagine our lives without her.
