While I was studying abroad Fletch did the sweetest thing. I mean, he is always sweet but the gifts he made me this year were exceptional. They were cry worthy (they were that good).
I was gone for five months and he wanted to give me something that would last me that entire time I was away. Valentine’s Day I received a video link to a video of Fletch singing me a beautiful song he wrote me. I’ve never had a song written for me before and I loved it. (hint to Fletch that he is welcome to write more for me.)
A few days later I received a box from Fletch. Inside I found a journal with “H & F” on the cover. I opened the journal and found filled pages, one for everyday I was gone. Some pages were filled with drawings and some were filled with stories. I was supposed to read a page a day.
I showed everyone I knew in London my journal and the song. Fletch’s gifts demonstrated the love he felt for me even though there was distance between us. He made me feel special, loved, and so much more.
These are a few of my most treasured items I have. I will keep the journal with me forever.
P.S. Here is the song Fletch wrote about me.
Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
I love anything and everything that is small and cute even if I don’t need it. The two items I am showing you today are good examples of this. I do a lot of online hunting and shopping which means I happen upon cute little items quiet frequently. One night I decided I couldn’t live without these cute little USBs. Looking back I probably didn’t need them (at least not both) BUT I will say that I absolutely love them and enjoy seeing them on my desk. They fit perfectly with the rest of my decor and they make me happy. Soon I will run out of room on my desk for cute little nicknacks… maybe I should stop buying so much. Nah. What do you think of my purchases? You can find the toast here. You can find the cupcake here.
Today I am sharing my awesome new friend, Groot!! I absolutely loved the movie, Guardians of the Galaxy and really enjoyed the dancing baby Groot at the end.
After seeing the movie I immediately took to the internet to find myself a little Groot action figure. I was excited to find that Funko was creating a baby Groot dancing bobble head vinyl Pop! doll!! I pre-ordered him on the spot! I waited for months to get my little Groot and he finally came in December!!!! AHHH!!!
He is just as cute as I imagined!
I now have this little guy sitting on my desk at home to help inspire me on a regular basis. This little $9.99 purchase has made me so happy.
Do you have any fun trinkets on your desk?
This week’s favorite thing is an office supply item. I will start by sharing a little known fact about me. I love office supplies. I know it is a little nerdy but it is true. Now that you know it will be no surprise that I am so excited about my new little desk buddy; Comma the Chameleon (like “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club).
Two years ago I found a photo of a chameleon tape dispenser on Pinterest and fell in love. I wanted that thing to occupy my desk! (see original photo below)
But alas, I was never able to locate one like the one in the photo. So, I searched for two years until I happened upon one in Office Max this week. I grabbed him from the shelf like I would a family member returning from a long trip. I looked at Fletch and said, “I must have him! Do I need him? No. Will he make me happy? Yes. I am buying him.”
Now Comma lives on my desk bringing smiles to everyone that may pass. I definitely think he was worth the $9.99 plus tax. (P.S. I watched all three Lord of the Ring movies this week, so sorry for the reference in my title.)
As you may know, I am a bit of a camera fiend. My collection has grown over the past few years from a few old cameras that I used as decoration to an entire bookcase filled with cameras and others displayed around our apartment.
I know that I have a lot of cameras but there are still so many that I want!! Maybe I just need a bigger home.. anyways. Today I want to tell you about my newest additions to my collection. You may remember my vintage camera wish list that I created a while back. So far I have got two of the cameras off of the list! Woo!
I previously did a post about the super awesome Kodak Rainbow Hawkeye Vest camera that was on my list and now I am sharing about my two new Argus cameras!!! My super awesome sister-in-law sent us a package and I started screaming when I opened it. I held the camera bag close to my person and silently “wooed” (yes that is a thing). I had been wanting an Argus for a long time and I got not one but two along with a ton of accessories, cases, AND a camera case. It was an amazing box to open.
I am so thankful to have so many wonderful people in my life that will encourage my collecting habits. Thank you so much Shelly for my amazing gift and I can’t wait to share them with others in the future!
