In case you don’t know this about me, I absolutely adore Disney. It’s one of my (many) things. So when my dad and I began discussing our plans for Christmas I came up with a genius idea. We should visit our family in Florida and spend a few days at Disney World! Yes, I know its a great idea. And everyone was game! So, in February of 2018, I started planning for our December Disney vaca. Now that you have a vision of how I wound up in Florida let’s fast forward to our first day at Disney World.
Our very first day at Disney World was spent at Hollywood Studios. I had never been and really wanted to check it out. We started the day early, lining up to enter the park about 40 minutes before it opened. We decided to first take a stab at riding the Slinky Dog Dash. By the time we got to the area the wait was already at 120 minutes so we decided to skip it. As we walked out of Toy Story Land we saw that there was an area to meet Star Wars characters and that the wait times weren’t bad. So, we decided to meet Chewbacca. If you leave this post with any new knowledge to use on your own trip to Disney it would be that, if you have a character you really want to meet, try and line up for that first if it starts when the park opens. Here’s why. Everyone else is rushing to the rides so the character waits are short. Get those photos then move on to the rides.
Once we finished up with Chewbacca we saw that the line for the BB-8 meet-up was super short so, we did that too!! I mean, why not?
After our photos, we were off to our first fast pass at the Alien Swirling Saucers. It was a ton of fun!! I thought the ride would be lame (it’s a bit slow) but I had a great time on it. Then we took more photos, of course!
The rest of the day was filled with lost of walking around, snapping more photos, and grabbing food! Our other fast passes were for Muppets 3D and Tower of Terror. This was my first time riding Tower of Terror and I loved it!! I mean, it was scary but great.
You can see that I’m grabbing onto both Fletch and my Dad. The little boy directly behind me was terrified and when the ride was over he was crying. Poor guy.
Anywho, we had a ton of fun at Hollywood Studios! It was our first day at the park and the most chill of the days. We walked around, ate food, drank beer, and left by like 6 pm. The next two days were a little more hectic but I’ll tell you about those later.
Have you ever been to Hollywood Studios at Disney World? If so, what’s your favorite ride?
