I can’t believe another year has passed. This year has seriously flown by. I spent most of the year working, blogging, and focusing on spending quality time with the people I care about. I’ve made new friends and grown closer to old ones. My dog, Lily, has discovered new ways to get under the shed in our backyard. So yeah, it was a big year.
I didn’t do anything huge. I didn’t run a marathon or start a new job. Rather, I focused on finding joy in what I currently have. I’m still having a difficult time with the loss of my Mom so 2017 was a time of healing. I’m starting to feel like I have a grip on things and look forward to growing in 2018.
I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions but I do like to have a list of goals that I continuously keep. Next year I hope to grow in my career. I like what I do but I feel like I could be doing more. I also want to venture into having my own business. I’ve allowed my fear of failure and accounting prevent me from starting something I’m really interested in. I’m also looking forward to continuing my fitness journey. This year I started going to the gym and look forward to continuing the habit.
My 2017 may not have been something for the history books but it set me up for what I’ll accomplish in 2018. Now is the time to focus on finding joy in every moment and taking chances.
